As the UK’s favourite tea, we fully recognise our environmental and social obligations and work tirelessly to ensure each cup of PG Tips protects both people and planet, today and tomorrow.

Our Packaging

To help in the global fight against plastic pollution, we became the first major UK tea brand to switch to biodegradable plant based tea bags in 2018 and we’re extremely proud that today 100% of PG Tips tea bags are fully compostable via food waste bins.

Net Zero

We’re aiming to reach net zero emissions as soon as possible and have committed to Science-Based Targets (SBTi) to help us measure and achieve this outcome. We’ve already made big changes to reduce our carbon footprint: PG Tips sends zero waste to landfill and our famous Tea Factory in Manchester is now carbon neutral and uses only 100% renewable energy.

The Rainforest Alliance

We were the first tea brand in the UK to join forces with the Rainforest Alliance and PG Tips has proudly carried the green frog seal on our packs since 2008.

Our long-standing partnership ensures that our tea leaves are grown and harvested on tea estates which meet rigorous environmental standards and look after the welfare of their producers and families
